The Qatari leadership congratulates Saudi Arabia on the success of the Hajj season 1445

His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, sent a cable of congratulations to his brother, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, King of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on the occasion of the great success of this year's Hajj season (1445 AH). His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, the Deputy Emir, and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, also sent similar cables of congratulations, expressing their sincere wishes for the Kingdom's continued progress and prosperity.

A diplomatic context that strengthens Gulf unity

This congratulatory message comes within the context of the growing fraternal relations between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which have witnessed remarkable development since the Al-Ula Summit Declaration in January 2021, which ended the Gulf crisis and restored unity to the Gulf Cooperation Council. This high-level diplomatic gesture reflects the two countries' keenness to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and joint cooperation in various fields, and underscores the mutual respect and appreciation for the Kingdom's significant efforts in serving the pilgrims of the Holy Mosque in Mecca.

The importance of organizing the Hajj and its global impact

The Hajj pilgrimage is one of the world’s largest annual human gatherings, with millions of Muslims from all corners of the globe converging on Mecca to perform the fifth pillar of Islam. Organizing this event presents a formidable logistical, security, and health challenge. As the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia dedicates enormous resources and capabilities to ensuring the safety and comfort of pilgrims, from developing infrastructure in the holy sites, such as the expansion of the Grand Mosque and the Al-Mashaaer Metro project, to employing cutting-edge technologies in crowd management and providing digital services through platforms like Nusuk to facilitate the pilgrims’ journey.

The impact of the season's success on both the regional and Islamic levels

The Kingdom's success in organizing the Hajj season has an impact not only locally, but also throughout the Islamic world. It reinforces the Kingdom's position as a leader of the Islamic world and custodian of the holy sites, and sends a reassuring message to Muslims worldwide that their rituals are performed in a safe and organized environment. Regionally, such positive interactions among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, like Qatar's congratulatory message, contribute to consolidating stability and strengthening joint action to address regional challenges. This serves the interests of the region's people and enhances its strength as an influential political and economic bloc on the international stage.
