The program "So that you may attain piety": The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice's comprehensive Ramadan plan

In a move aimed at strengthening faith and good conduct during Ramadan, His Excellency the President General of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Sanad, launched the specialized awareness program “So That You May Attain Piety.” This program is part of the General Presidency’s strategy to utilize the blessed religious seasons to guide and enlighten society. The program will run for 36 days, beginning on the first day of Ramadan and continuing until the sixth of Shawwal.

A comprehensive awareness system and record-breaking figures

The General Presidency revealed details of the program's operational plan, which combines fieldwork with digital outreach. The plan includes disseminating over 300 diverse awareness-raising materials across various digital platforms and media outlets to ensure the widest possible audience reach. The program also includes operating five mobile awareness exhibitions that will tour key areas and launching 65 field awareness campaigns.

In order to make things easier for those fasting and shopping in public places, the Authority provided 18 fully equipped mobile prayer areas, in addition to 15 modern awareness platforms, reflecting the high readiness of the field teams to serve the community during the holy month.

Context of institutional transformation and development

The launch of the “Perhaps You Will Attain Piety” program comes within the context of the qualitative transformation that the General Presidency for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has witnessed in recent years. The Presidency has moved from traditional methods to adopting strategies based on “preventive awareness” and utilizing modern technology and digital tools to deliver its message. This transformation aligns with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes promoting moderate Islamic values and providing religious services in a civilized manner that addresses the needs of the new generation.

Societal impact and desired goals

The program is expected to have a tangible positive impact locally, as it focuses on promoting the practice of fasting and explaining the virtues and rulings of the holy month in an accessible manner. Its importance lies in its role in strengthening national unity and social bonds by reminding people of the moral and behavioral values encouraged by Islam.

Dr. Al-Sanad confirmed in his statement that the Presidency had prepared early for this season with comprehensive programs aimed at achieving the ultimate goal of fasting, which is “piety,” noting that the diversity of means between the field and digital ensures the comprehensiveness of the message and its impact on refining souls and investing the times of the holy month in what brings one closer to God Almighty.
