Housing begins handing over residential units in implementation of the Crown Prince's directive

The National Housing Development Foundation (Sakān) announced the launch of the first phase of delivering housing units to beneficiaries across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This significant step comes in implementation of the generous directive of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister – may God protect him – following his generous donation of one billion Saudi riyals from his personal funds to the Foundation’s “Jood Housing” initiative.

This generous initiative aims to promote homeownership for the most vulnerable families and provide a dignified life for citizens, reflecting the great importance His Royal Highness the Crown Prince places on housing and the stability of Saudi families. The “Sakan” Foundation has developed a well-structured implementation plan to ensure the completion of allocated housing projects within a record time of no more than 12 months, while strictly adhering to the highest standards of quality and governance in all operational and engineering processes.

A comprehensive implementation plan and high quality standards

The institution has adopted a precise operational mechanism that allows for the immediate commencement of deliveries across six scheduled phases to cover all regions of the Kingdom. This mechanism relies on selecting ready-built housing units constructed by qualified national real estate developers and companies, ensuring their compliance with approved technical specifications and achieving a rapid and tangible developmental impact. Furthermore, “Sakān” coordinates directly with the regional governorates to implement a monthly distribution plan encompassing two regions in each phase, aiming to streamline access for beneficiaries and enhance the efficiency and speed of the delivery process.

The context of Vision 2030 and the housing file

This development initiative is perfectly aligned with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which has placed housing at the forefront of its priorities and has succeeded in significantly increasing homeownership rates among citizens in recent years. The housing program is one of the Vision's most important initiatives, contributing to the development of diverse housing solutions and strengthening partnerships between the public, private, and non-profit sectors. The "Sakan" Foundation stands out as a leading example of activating the role of the third sector in housing development.

The social and economic impact of the initiative

The impact of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's directive and generous donation extends far beyond the purely financial sphere, encompassing profound social and economic dimensions. On the social level, providing suitable housing contributes to the family and psychological stability of eligible groups, positively impacting children's academic performance and overall family productivity. Economically, injecting these funds into the developmental housing sector stimulates national real estate development companies and creates investment and employment opportunities, thereby bolstering the local economic cycle.

In conclusion, this generous directive embodies the wise leadership’s keenness to understand the needs of citizens and provide them with a decent standard of living, emphasizing that human beings are the focus of development in the Kingdom, and that social solidarity through trusted platforms such as “Jood Housing” is a fundamental pillar in building a vibrant and cohesive society.
