Maximum temperatures in Saudi Arabia today: Dammam 31°C and Tarif 15°C

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia released its daily report on Tuesday, detailing the maximum temperatures recorded in various cities and provinces across the Kingdom. The data revealed significant variations in weather conditions between different regions, reflecting the country's diverse geography.

Dammam and Riyadh are leading the way in major cities

According to official data, Dammam recorded a high of 31 degrees Celsius, the same temperature recorded in the capital, Riyadh, as well as in Al-Kharj and Wadi Al-Dawasir. This similarity in temperatures across the central and eastern regions indicates a relative stability in the air masses currently affecting these parts of the Kingdom.

List of maximum temperatures in the cities of the Kingdom

The details of the maximum temperatures recorded today are as follows:

  • Eastern and Central Region: Dammam, Riyadh, Al-Kharj and Wadi Al-Dawasir recorded 31 degrees Celsius, while the Al-Dahna and Al-Saman deserts recorded the highest temperatures at 35 degrees Celsius, and Al-Ahsa and Rawdat Al-Tanhat recorded 33 degrees Celsius.
  • Western Region: The temperature in Mecca reached 29 degrees Celsius, in Medina 26 degrees Celsius, while Jeddah recorded 27 degrees Celsius, and Yanbu 28 degrees Celsius.
  • Northern regions: witnessed a significant decrease, with Tarif recording the lowest maximum temperature on the list at 15 degrees Celsius, followed by Al Qurayyat at 17 degrees Celsius, then Tabuk and Sakaka at 18 degrees Celsius, and Arar at 19 degrees Celsius.
  • The southern highlands were characterized by moderate to relatively cold weather, with Abha recording 21 degrees Celsius, Al-Baha 19 degrees Celsius, and Al-Soudah 15 degrees Celsius.
  • Other cities: Najran, Jazan and Al Qunfudhah recorded 30 degrees Celsius, while Sharurah recorded 32 degrees Celsius.

Climatic and geographical diversity in the Kingdom

These figures reflect the unique environmental and geographical diversity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. While open desert areas like Ad-Dahna and As-Summan experience temperatures as high as 35 degrees Celsius, the northern regions and mountainous highlands record lower temperatures, reaching around 15 degrees Celsius, as seen in Tarif and As-Soudah. This significant variation, reaching up to 20 degrees Celsius between different areas on the same day, underscores the vastness of the Kingdom and the diversity of its terrain, encompassing coasts, plains, mountains, and deserts.

The importance of following the reports of the National Center for Meteorology

The National Center for Meteorology is the official body authorized to issue weather reports in Saudi Arabia. These reports are of paramount importance to citizens and residents for planning their daily activities, and to government and service agencies for taking necessary precautions, especially in areas experiencing severe weather fluctuations or fog and dust storms. The Center always advises following its periodic bulletins through its official platforms to ensure access to accurate and up-to-date weather information.
