The Saudi Cabinet praises the Syrian truce and condemns the Gaza violations

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister - may God protect him - chaired the Cabinet meeting held today in the capital, Riyadh, which witnessed the discussion of political, economic and developmental files of great importance at the local and international levels.

Welcoming stability in Syria and supporting peace

At the outset of the session, the Council reviewed the recent political talks and consultations, commending the successful diplomatic efforts regarding the Syrian issue. The Council expressed the Kingdom's welcome of the ceasefire between the Syrian government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), praising the parties' responsiveness to the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States in this regard.

This position comes as a confirmation of the Kingdom’s leading role in promoting regional security, as this agreement is seen as a pivotal step towards ending years of conflict, paving the way for Syria to regain its political and economic health, and strengthening its national unity and territorial integrity, which will positively impact the stability of the entire Middle East region.

Condemnation of Israeli violations in Gaza

Regarding the Palestinian issue, the Cabinet reiterated its firm stance on the developments in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the contents of the statement issued by the foreign ministers of Arab and Islamic countries. The Cabinet strongly condemned the continued violations of the ceasefire by Israeli occupation forces, warning that these practices undermine international efforts aimed at consolidating the truce and implementing the stages of the peace plan.

The Council stressed that a just and comprehensive peace can only be achieved through a two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities in protecting civilians and stopping the war machine.

Environmental and technological leadership

Locally and regionally, the Council noted the successes achieved by the “Green Middle East” initiative, which has grown to 35 member states and committed to planting more than 22 billion trees. These steps are part of the Kingdom’s strategy to combat climate change, placing the region on the global climate action map and enhancing quality of life.

The Council also commended the outcomes of the International Conference on Data and Artificial Intelligence and the Future Real Estate Forum, which witnessed the signing of dozens of agreements that support digital transformation and the localization of technology, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to diversify sources of income and build a sustainable knowledge economy.
