In a move reflecting the strategic importance that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia attaches to peaceful nuclear energy and international security, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mr. Rafael Grossi. The meeting provided an important opportunity to discuss prospects for cooperation with the IAEAand to reaffirm the Kingdom's unwavering commitment to the principles of nuclear non-proliferation, which constitutes a cornerstone of its foreign policy aimed at promoting stability in the Middle East and the world.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review was conducted of the existing cooperation between the Kingdom and the Agency, and ways to develop it in various technical and technological fields. The discussion was not limited to political aspects, but also included exploring mechanisms to ensure the highest standards of nuclear safety and security in future projects planned by the Kingdom, in line with its international obligations and its ambitious vision to diversify its energy sources.
