Historical background of Cuban Liberation Day
Every year on January 1st, the Republic of Cuba celebrates "Liberation Day," the day that marks the victory of the Cuban Revolution in 1959. This date represents a pivotal turning point in the history of the Caribbean island, as the revolutionary forces succeeded in overthrowing the regime of Fulgencio Batista, after which Cuba began a new political and social phase that shaped its current identity.
This day is considered an official national holiday and an occasion for popular and official celebrations in Havana and throughout Cuban cities, where the national struggle is commemorated and historical figures who contributed to the independence of Cuban decision-making are honored.
Saudi-Cuban relations and prospects for cooperation
This congratulatory message comes within the framework of the growing diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Cuba. The past years have witnessed remarkable progress in joint cooperation, particularly through projects undertaken by the Saudi Fund for Development, which have contributed to supporting infrastructure and vital sectors in Cuba, including the water and health sectors.
Under Vision 2030 and its open foreign policy, the Kingdom seeks to strengthen its partnerships with Latin American countries, exchange expertise in the medical fields for which Cuba is famous, and coordinate in international forums in a way that serves the interests of both countries and promotes international peace and security.
