1.6 million inspection tours: Regional municipalities' efforts for better Saudi cities
The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, represented by the regional secretariats, announced that it carried out more than 1.6 million intensive inspection tours during the first quarter of 2024. These efforts come within the framework of the Ministry’s continuous endeavor to enhance compliance with regulations and bylaws, raise the level of quality of municipal services, improve the urban landscape, and ensure the protection of public health in various cities and governorates of the Kingdom.

The ministry explained that inspection tours witnessed an increasing pace during the first three months of the year, with over 526,000 tours conducted in January, followed by more than 562,000 in February, reaching a peak in March with 596,000 inspection tours. These field and regulatory campaigns encompassed multiple tracks to ensure comprehensive coverage, including monitoring public health, markets, addressing visual pollution, monitoring buildings and collective housing, as well as monitoring excavations and land encroachments, regulating commercial activities, and classifying contractors.
