Unified university admissions: Last chance to amend data before results are announced
The national platform for unified university admissions , "Qabool," closes today, Monday, the period for modifying personal and academic data for high school graduates. This step is a crucial organizational measure to ensure the accuracy and validity of all registered information before the actual competition for university places begins, which is scheduled to be finalized on July 18. This leaves students with only a few minutes to review their files and confirm their preferences.
The platform urged all applicants to take advantage of the remaining hours for the final review of their data, explaining that the available modifications include updating academic records and adding any special exceptions that may affect the admission process, in order to ensure the safety and accuracy of the information on which subsequent selection stages will be based.
“Qubool” platform: A qualitative leap in the journey of higher education
The university admissions process in Saudi Arabia has never been this streamlined and centralized. Before the launch of the “Qubool” platform, students had to endure a grueling journey of applying separately to each university, with repetitive procedures and multiple deadlines, placing significant stress on both students and their families. The unified national admissions platform was introduced as part of the Kingdom’s digital transformation under Vision 2030, aiming to unify admissions procedures for public universities and technical colleges under a single umbrella. This system has revolutionized the process, contributing to fairness and equal opportunities for all applicants, saving them time and effort, and enabling universities to manage admissions processes with greater efficiency and transparency.
Crucial dates in the unified university admissions
According to the approved timeline, the admission process involves several key stages. After the data modification window closes today, high school grades will be automatically recorded on June 26 and 27 via a direct link with official sources. The period from June 12 to 14 has been designated for announcing the results of admissions to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program. The most crucial stage for students, the real-time ranking process, will begin on June 28 and continue until July 18. During this time, students will be offered study opportunities based on their weighted scores and ranked preferences, with results continuously updated. The platform also indicated that July 7 is the deadline for submitting applications for specializations that require specific criteria, such as personal interviews or required tests.
Selection mechanism and admission criteria
The platform clarified that the display of potential admission opportunities is primarily based on the minimum weighted scores that were the cutoff for admission in previous years. The platform assists students by providing indicators that show the likelihood of admission with a "high" or "low" score, guiding them to realistically prioritize their preferences. At the same time, the platform cautioned that the list of available preferences and specializations may change dynamically based on competition levels and actual supply and demand indicators during the application period. It emphasized that the system guarantees complete transparency, with results continuously updated so that each student knows their position in the competition in real time, giving them the opportunity to modify their preferences if necessary before the system closes permanently.
