Tucker Carlson on the Liwan: Covid is a lie and an attack on Western leaders

In a striking media appearance that sparked widespread controversy in political and media circles, renowned American journalist Tucker Carlson a scathing attack on Western leaders and American policies during his appearance on the "Liwan" program with journalist Abdullah Al-Mudayfer on Rotana Khalijia channel. During the interview, Carlson addressed sensitive issues including the COVID-19 pandemic, the Iraq War, media control in the United States, and the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
Leadership crisis in the West and media dominance
Carlson asserted that the real problem facing the Western world today lies in the quality of its leaders, describing them as "selfish individuals" lacking wisdom and political foresight. He indicated that these leaders deliberately create conflicts and disputes among nations as a smokescreen to conceal their true agendas and actions. This statement comes within the context of Carlson's ongoing criticism of the political elite in Washington, which he believes is leading the world toward an uncertain future.
Regarding freedom of expression, Carlson made a startling revelation about the reality of American media, emphasizing that the US government exercises near-total control over the press. He stated unequivocally, "We were given orders about what we told people," pointing to the existence of red lines that could not be crossed, such as questioning why Israel is considered the United States' greatest ally, or asking questions about documents related to the 9/11 attacks that remain classified. He asserted that posing such questions could end the career of any journalist in America.
COVID-19: The Big Lie and Vaccines
In one of his most controversial statements, Carlson described the COVID-19 pandemic as a "lie" used to harm and control people. He lamented that people had lost their lives not only because of the virus, but also because the government had forced them to take vaccines. He explained that he had boycotted American media and local newspapers for years to avoid being influenced by what he called "systematic lies" being spread to the public.
Regret over the Iraq War and the Russian file
The American media figure did not hesitate to offer a public apology for his past support of the Iraq War, describing his stance as something he was ashamed of, saying, "I wish I hadn't done that." This admission reflects a radical shift in the convictions of many American conservatives who now view foreign military interventions as a drain on US resources and a strategic mistake.
Regarding the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Carlson criticized continued US support for Ukraine, revealing that US forces had attempted to prevent him from conducting his famous interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2024. He asserted that his aim in that interview was to "embarrass his government," which he claimed was not acting in the country's best interests. Carlson relayed a serious warning from a close advisor to Putin, stating that Russia might be forced to use nuclear weapons against Britain and Germany if the escalation of the Ukrainian war continued. At the same time, he praised President Putin, describing him as an exceptional leader who rescued Russia from chaos in 2000 and transformed it into a powerful nation.
