Early control and opening goal

The Carthage Eagles entered the match with clear attacking intentions, buoyed by the strong support of the home crowd in Morocco. The Tunisian team wasted no time in converting their dominance, opening the scoring early in the tenth minute. The goal came from a perfectly executed corner kick from the right flank into the penalty area, where star player Ellyes Skhiri rose to head the ball expertly into the net, marking Tunisia's first goal of the tournament.

Al-Ashouri shone and increased the score

The Tunisian national team continued their high-pressing game, refusing to settle for just one goal. Before the end of the first half, Elias Achouri managed to extend their lead with a brilliant second goal, capitalizing on a decisive pass inside the penalty area to unleash a powerful shot that nestled into the Ugandan goalkeeper's net, ending the first half with a comfortable 2-0 lead for the Carthage Eagles.

In the second half, Al-Ashouri returned to confirm his stardom in the match by scoring his second personal goal and the third for his country’s team in the 64th minute, taking advantage of a rebound from the Ugandan goalkeeper’s hand to put it into the net skillfully, practically deciding the result in favor of Tunisia.

The importance of winning in Group C calculations

This victory is of paramount strategic importance to the Tunisian national team, especially as it comes within the framework of Group C, considered one of the toughest groups, which includes, in addition to Tunisia and Uganda, the formidable Nigerian team and the improving Tanzanian national team. This win gives Tunisia an early advantage and psychological comfort before the more difficult upcoming matches, and puts early pressure on their direct rival, Nigeria.

Seeking a second continental title

This Tunisian participation comes amidst high hopes from Arab and Tunisian fans for a return to continental glory. The Tunisian national team, which won the title once in its history in 2004 on home soil, seeks to capitalize on the tournament being held in Morocco (North Africa) to repeat that achievement, as the atmosphere and climate in Morocco are considered advantageous for the Carthage Eagles compared to tournaments in the heart of Africa.

A consolation goal and the end of the match

Despite Tunisia's dominance, the Ugandan team managed to score a consolation goal in the dying moments (90+2 minutes) through Dennis Omede, who took advantage of a rare defensive lapse and confusion in the Tunisian back line to fire a ball from inside the area into the net, ending the match with Tunisia winning 3-1 and earning their first three valuable points in the African campaign.
