Ongoing efforts to achieve quality of life goals in Al-Qassim
In its ongoing efforts to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to enhance quality of life and improve the urban landscape, the Qassim Region Municipality continues its intensive field efforts to ensure the highest health and safety standards. The Aqla As-Suqur Governorate holds significant strategic and geographical importance, located in the western part of the Qassim region and serving as a vital transit point on the route for pilgrims traveling to Madinah. This strategic location makes municipal and health oversight a pressing necessity to guarantee the provision of the best possible services to citizens, residents, and visitors alike.
Details of the inspection tours of the Aqla Al-Suqur Municipality
In this context, the Qassim Region Municipality, represented by the Aqla Al-Suqur Governorate Municipality, conducted a large-scale inspection campaign, resulting in 1,390 inspection tours during the first quarter of 2026. These tours are part of the municipality's ongoing strategy to enhance compliance with municipal and health regulations in various commercial and food establishments. The tours were comprehensive and diverse, including 419 field visits targeting health and food establishments to ensure the safety of products offered, in addition to 557 inspection tours of various professional and commercial establishments.
Addressing visual distortion and monitoring infrastructure
The efforts were not limited to the health and commercial sectors, but extended to improving the urban landscape, one of the most important national initiatives of the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing. Inspection teams conducted 326 tours dedicated to addressing visual pollution, in addition to 52 inspection tours to monitor excavation work and ensure contractors' compliance with traffic and occupational safety requirements, thus contributing to the protection of lives and property.
Enforcement of violations to promote public health
Under the slogan “Controlling Violations to Enhance Quality of Life,” these intensive campaigns yielded tangible results on the ground. Forty-two kilograms of spoiled and unfit-for-human-consumption food were confiscated and destroyed, directly contributing to protecting public health and preventing foodborne illnesses. Additionally, 73 various violations were issued against non-compliant establishments, and four establishments were closed for serious violations of municipal regulations. Furthermore, in its engagement with the community, the municipality addressed 38 reports related to health violations, reflecting its rapid response and effective performance.
Urban planning oversight and community partnership
Regarding building and construction oversight, the municipality conducted 36 inspection tours to ensure compliance with approved building codes and issued 11 warnings to violators. These integrated efforts have a broad positive impact at the local and regional levels, enhancing consumer confidence and supporting the local economy by creating a fair and healthy business environment. In conclusion, the Qassim Region Municipality called upon all citizens and residents to play their role as partners in development by cooperating and reporting any observations or municipal violations through the "Baladi" smart application or by directly contacting the unified reporting center at 940, emphasizing that community awareness is the cornerstone of the success of these efforts.
