Wadi Al-Dawasir receives 850 Yemeni pilgrims as part of efforts to serve pilgrims

A warm welcome for the pilgrims in Wadi Al-Dawasir

In a scene reflecting the generosity of hospitality and the commitment to serving the pilgrims of the Holy House of God, the Guest Service Center in Wadi Al-Dawasir Governorate welcomed the first convoy of pilgrims arriving from the sisterly Republic of Yemen, comprising more than 850 pilgrims. This initiative is part of a comprehensive system of services overseen by the Riyadh Region Municipality and implemented by the Wadi Al-Dawasir Municipality in cooperation with several government agencies and volunteer teams, with the aim of facilitating the pilgrims' journey and providing them with the utmost comfort and care from the moment they arrive in the Kingdom.

Historical background of serving Yemeni pilgrims

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia pays special attention to Yemeni pilgrims, recognizing the difficult circumstances in Yemen. Over the years, the Kingdom has worked to facilitate their arrival procedures and provide safe routes and well-equipped reception stations along the land routes leading to the holy sites. Wadi Al-Dawasir Governorate is a strategic transit point and a major reception station for pilgrims arriving by land from the Al-Wadi'ah border crossing, making the services provided there vital to ensuring a comfortable and safe start to their spiritual journey.

Integrated 24/7 service system

The Wadi Al-Dawasir Municipality explained that the center operates 24 hours a day, providing a range of diverse services. Fully equipped rest areas have been prepared for pilgrims, where meals and hot and cold beverages are distributed. In addition to logistical support, the center offers primary healthcare services in cooperation with Wadi Al-Dawasir General Hospital and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority. Furthermore, informational and guidance booths, overseen by the Department of Mosques, Da'wah, and Guidance, aim to educate pilgrims about Hajj rituals and provide them with necessary religious guidance.

The importance of the initiative and its positive impact

The significance of this reception transcends mere logistical support, representing a profound message of humanitarian and fraternal solidarity with the Yemeni people. Locally, these efforts highlight the spirit of cooperation and integration among various sectors in Wadi Al-Dawasir Governorate, and reinforce the culture of volunteerism among young men and women who actively participate in serving the pilgrims. Regionally and internationally, this initiative underscores the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role as Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and its unwavering commitment to providing a safe and accessible environment for all Muslims to perform Hajj, regardless of their nationality or circumstances.

Joining efforts to ensure the comfort of pilgrims

This work is the result of the combined efforts of several entities, including the municipality, Wadi Al-Dawasir Hospital, the Red Crescent, the Mosques Department, and the Da'wah and Guidance Association for Expatriate Communities. This integrated approach reflects a commitment to providing an exceptional service model that ensures the comfort and safety of pilgrims until they reach the holy sites, thus enabling them to perform their rituals with ease and peace of mind.
