The importance of the award and its local and international standing
The King Salman Award for Memorizing the Holy Quran holds immense importance and a prestigious position, not only within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, but also regionally and internationally. This competition is an extension of the Kingdom's longstanding efforts to care for the Holy Quran and encourage young people to engage with it through memorization, recitation, and contemplation.
The award reflects the keenness of the wise leadership – may God support them – to connect members of society with the Holy Quran, so that it may be a guiding light in their lives and a moderate approach that promotes the values of moderation and tolerance. The competition also contributes to fostering a spirit of healthy competition among those who have memorized the Holy Quran and to highlighting outstanding examples of the nation's sons and daughters who have completed memorizing it, thus strengthening Islamic identity and preserving the Arabic language.
