8427 families will benefit from housing support in Saudi Arabia in January 2026

The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia announced new figures reflecting the continued growth in the housing sector. Official statistics revealed that 8,427 Saudi families benefited from housing support during January 2026. These figures confirm the commitment of the "Sakani" program to continue its pivotal role in enabling citizens to obtain suitable housing, within the framework of ongoing efforts to achieve the objectives of the housing program, one of the main pillars of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

Regarding the geographical distribution of beneficiaries, the ministry explained that the Riyadh region topped the list, accounting for the largest share at 26% of all beneficiary families, reflecting the population density and increasing demand in the capital. The Makkah region came in second with 18%, followed by the Eastern Province with 14%, while the remaining percentage was distributed across various other regions of the Kingdom, indicating the program's comprehensiveness and the reach of its services to all cities and governorates.

In terms of operational performance, the Ministry recorded high completion rates, with an average of 428 housing product contracts executed daily during January. This figure reflects the efficiency of digital procedures and the speed of processing provided by the "Sakani" application and platform, facilitating the homeownership journey for beneficiaries and reducing waiting times. The total number of contracts signed since the program's launch in 2017 until the end of January 2026 reached 1,016,886, a record number that highlights the program's cumulative impact on addressing the housing issue.

In a related context, this achievement is an extension of the successes achieved in previous years, as the Minister of Municipalities and Housing, Mr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Hogail, had previously announced that the percentage of Saudi families owning homes would exceed 66.24% by the end of 2025. The Ministry is working steadily to reach a 70% ownership rate by 2030, through strengthening the partnership with the private sector and real estate developers to inject more diverse housing units into the market.

The program offers a variety of options, including ready-built housing units, off-plan units (sales under construction), self-build options, and residential land plots. This diversity helps meet the varied needs of Saudi families and aligns with their purchasing power. It also contributes to the stability of the real estate market and stimulates the Kingdom's economic cycle by boosting the contracting, finance, and building materials sectors.
