King Salman Center distributes aid in Sudan, Chad and Yemen
As part of the leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in global humanitarian work, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid its intensive efforts to extend a helping hand to the needy and affected people around the world. Its latest relief operations included the distribution of food aid and winter clothing in three countries: Sudan, Chad, and Yemen, targeting thousands of families suffering from harsh living conditions.
Supporting food security in Sudan
As part of ongoing efforts to alleviate the suffering of the Sudanese people, the center distributed 1,000 food baskets targeting the most vulnerable families and displaced persons in Kosti locality, White Nile State. Approximately 6,467 individuals benefited from this aid, which falls under the "Sudan Support" project for 2026. This assistance is of paramount importance given the dire humanitarian situation in Sudan, as these baskets help bridge the food gap and provide essential needs for families forced to flee their homes in search of safety.
In-kind assistance in Chad
In a related development, Saudi Arabia's humanitarian efforts extended to the Republic of Chad, where the center distributed 720 food baskets in the Hadjer Lamis region, benefiting 720 families in dire need. This distribution is part of the in-kind assistance project allocated to the Republic of Chad for the year 2026. This aid is part of the center's strategy to support African countries facing economic and climatic challenges that affect the food security of their populations, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to supporting developmental and humanitarian stability on the African continent.
The "Kanaf" project and facing the Yemeni winter
In Yemen, the center focused its efforts on addressing the challenges of the harsh winter, distributing 1,682 shopping vouchers in Al-Mawasit District, Taiz Governorate. These vouchers allow beneficiaries to purchase winter clothing of their choice from approved stores. A total of 1,682 displaced persons and members of the host community benefited from this initiative as part of the "Kanaf" project for 2026. This step comes in response to the urgent need to provide warmth for families living in displacement camps or in cold mountainous areas, thus helping to protect them from cold-related illnesses.
A universal humanitarian message
These simultaneous initiatives in three different countries embody the noble message of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, which was established to be a beacon of hope, providing assistance without discrimination. These projects reflect the Kingdom's commitment to standing by its brothers and friends in times of crisis, whether caused by conflicts, natural disasters, or economic challenges, thus reinforcing Saudi Arabia's position as one of the world's largest donors of humanitarian aid.
