Exceptional preparations for the Hajj season
The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has completed all preparations at Namira Mosque to receive pilgrims for the Hajj season, through a comprehensive system of operational and technical services. The mosque's halls have been draped with luxurious carpets covering an area exceeding 125,000 square meters. The development work also included upgrading the air conditioning and ventilation systems and improving the efficiency of the electrical and sound services, to ensure a comfortable and spiritually enriching environment that enables pilgrims to perform their rituals with ease and tranquility.
Combating heat stress and cooling the atmosphere
Given that the Hajj season coincides with the summer months, authorities have paid close attention to combating heat stress. Preparations included installing 19 large umbrellas in the mosque's rear courtyard, which help reduce temperatures by approximately 10 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the floors were coated with sun-reflective materials, and 117 misting fans, powered by high-pressure water pumps, were deployed throughout the surrounding courtyards to lower the temperature by up to 9 degrees Celsius.
Advanced ventilation systems and integrated services
Regarding ventilation, the central air conditioning control system was upgraded to allow for monitoring of air quality and carbon dioxide levels, ensuring the mosque's air is completely renewed twice an hour, thus providing a healthy and safe environment. The ministry also enhanced the water supply by installing 70 chilled water units with a capacity to serve up to 140,000 pilgrims per hour. To ensure smooth movement, the mosque has 72 entrances, each equipped with a state-of-the-art sound system and high-resolution security cameras.
Digital awareness and guidance
The preparations also included raising awareness, with the Ministry intensifying guidance and outreach services by operating 150 digital screens broadcasting awareness messages in several languages. Video conferencing platforms were also provided to answer religious inquiries, and hundreds of preachers and translators were assigned to serve the pilgrims, ensuring that the rituals were performed in the best possible manner according to the Prophet's teachings.
