
Back from retirement... Neuer tops Germany's World Cup squad
Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has come out of international retirement to play for Germany in the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada from June 11 to July 19.
The German national team roster announced today (Thursday) by coach Julian Nagelsmann includes Manuel Neuer as the first choice to guard the "Mannschaft's" goal in the World Cup.
Nagelsmann said at a press conference: “Yes, I plan for Neuer to be the first choice to guard the German national team’s goal in the World Cup, and the main task is to choose the best three goalkeepers to participate in the tournament.”.
