Public Security launches new services via Absher for cameras and weapons

In a move that strengthens the digital transformation in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, His Excellency the Director of Public Security, Lieutenant General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Bassami, launched today a new package of high-quality electronic services through the Ministry of Interior's electronic platform, "Absher." This launch, which took place at the General Directorate of Public Security headquarters in Riyadh, reflects the Ministry's ongoing commitment to developing the digital infrastructure for security services.
The context of digital transformation and Vision 2030
The launch of these new services aligns with the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which prioritizes digital transformation to improve quality of life and enhance the efficiency of government operations. The "Absher" platform is the Ministry of Interior's leading technological arm, having successfully automated hundreds of services over the past years, saving time and effort for citizens and residents and reducing the need for in-person visits to security sector offices.
Details of the newly launched services
The new package included a variety of services covering the needs of individuals and the business sector, and included:
- Air rifle services: These allow beneficiaries to report the loss or damage of air rifle licenses, in addition to the service of authorizing the carrying of a functional weapon via the "Absher Business" platform, and reviewing related reports via "Absher Government".
- Motorcycle and vehicle services: Public Security launched services for authorizing motorcycles and transferring their ownership electronically, in addition to vehicle reports and cards services that include a "vehicle display card" and a report on dropped vehicles via "Absher Business".
- Security camera services: These are among the most important additions to the business sector, as they allow the issuance and review of "Camera Installation Compliance Certificates," in addition to compliance management services and electronic reporting requests.
Security and economic importance
These services are of particular importance, especially security camera services, as they contribute to strengthening the security systems of commercial establishments and raising the level of compliance with regulations. Furthermore, automating weapons and vehicle services ensures data accuracy and faster procedures, which positively impacts the investment environment and community security.
The Ministry of Interior confirmed that these steps are aimed directly at raising the level of satisfaction of beneficiaries, including citizens, residents and visitors, by providing a smooth and reliable user experience that keeps pace with the latest global technical standards in providing government services.
