The competitions committee rejects the application... Al-Nasr responds: Treat us the same way
Private sources told Okaz that Al-Nasr club is awaiting a response from the Competitions Committee of the Saudi Professional League Association “Roshan”, regarding the request submitted on March 1st via an official letter to the association concerning bringing forward the league match against Al-Ettifaq in the 29th round from April 24th to April 15th; due to possible circumstances related to Asian participations before the official date for the knockout stage matches of the AFC Champions League 2, but the response at the time was an apology without explaining convincing reasons.
The source revealed that the league was contacted again after the continental match dates were confirmed for April 19 and 22, with a request to take this overlap into account, as Al-Nasr management believes that the team cannot play a match on April 22 and then return to play on the 24th of the same month directly, especially with the possibility of the April 22 match extending to extra time or penalty kicks, which may mean entering a new day, and the league has not yet responded with approval or rejection.
It is worth noting that the league's competitions department, headed by Manuel Flores, brought forward the matches of round 29 for the clubs participating in the Asian elite (Al-Hilal, Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad) to April 7, before round 28. Al-Nasr fans hope that Al-Nasr's request will be dealt with in the same way as the other Saudi teams participating in the Asian elite, especially since all four teams represent the nation in Asian events.
