
The head of the Entertainment Authority announces fights for world titles as part of the preliminary card for the "Glory in Giza" event
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) and President of the Saudi Boxing Federation, Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al-Sheikh, announced the preliminary card details for the Glory in Giza event, scheduled for Saturday, May 23, in the Arab Republic of Egypt. The event features a number of prominent international fights for major titles, in collaboration with The Ring magazine and with the support of Matchroom Boxing.
The headline event is the highly anticipated main event between unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and former kickboxing champion Rico Verhoeven, which will be broadcast live globally on the DAZN platform.

In the most notable preliminary card fight, Britain’s Hamza Shiraz will meet Germany’s Alim Begich for the vacant World Boxing Organization (WBO) Super Middleweight title.
The event features a fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) middleweight title, pitting Britain's Jack Catterall against undefeated Uzbekistan's Shakhram Giyasov.
In a tough heavyweight showdown, Cuban Frank Sanchez will meet American Richard Torres Jr., with Sanchez defending his WBC Americas and WBO NABO titles.

In the women's competition, Japan's Mizuki Hirota, who holds the title of "Boxer of the Year" from "The Ring" magazine, will defend her (Ring) and (WBO) titles against Australian of Egyptian origin, Misleman, in a match that represents Hirota's seventh consecutive defense of the (WBO) title since winning it in September 2022, and is also her first appearance on a major main card.
