The project extends over three years in partnership with the Association for the Physically Disabled Adults, providing an adapted residential environment that supports quality of life and enables beneficiaries to live independently.

The Saudi First Bank announced its support of 10 million Saudi Riyals for the developmental housing project implemented by the Association for the Physically Disabled Adults in collaboration with the National Development Housing Foundation, aimed at providing and preparing 100 housing units for individuals with physical disabilities from low-income backgrounds over three years. This initiative is part of the social responsibility initiatives launched by the bank coinciding with its 100th anniversary and within its campaign “Al-Awwal’s Giving to the Community.” The agreement was signed by Ms. Faten Aba Al-Khail, CEO of Governance and Corporate Affairs at “Al-Awwal,” and Mr. Askar Al-Harthi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association for the Physically Disabled.

This partnership embodies a model of integration between supporting, executing, and benefiting entities, as the National Development Housing Foundation will implement the housing pathway according to the approved frameworks and regulations, while the Association for the Physically Disabled will work to reach out to beneficiaries with physical disabilities, recommend deserving cases, and collaborate in completing related procedures.

The project aims to provide a residential environment that considers their needs by implementing necessary engineering modifications within the homes, preparing facilities according to approved standards, and providing safety equipment, enabling them to carry out their daily lives with greater independence and enhancing their integration into society.

The project will be implemented in several phases, including receiving and studying applications, assessing cases, coordinating with relevant entities, approving cases and providing funding, followed by the preparation of homes or provision of housing units, culminating in monitoring beneficiaries and evaluating the impact post-implementation, ensuring the achievement of the project’s intended goals.

It also includes preparing 100 social case studies for approval according to specified standards, conducting at least 196 field visits, in addition to equipping each housing unit with essential requirements, including ramps, adapted bathrooms, safe corridors, and safety equipment, to provide a more suitable residential environment for their needs and those of their families.

The project will contribute to achieving a tangible developmental impact by enabling beneficiaries to rely more on themselves, enhancing their psychological and family stability, and reducing health risks associated with unsuitable housing, in addition to improving their quality of life and increasing their integration into society.

Faten Aba Al-Khail, CEO of Governance and Corporate Affairs at Al-Awwal, commented: “The adapted housing represents a turning point in the lives of individuals with disabilities, granting them greater independence and enhancing their ability to carry out their daily lives safely and comfortably. Through this partnership with the Association for the Physically Disabled Adults, we aim to provide solutions that go beyond housing adaptations to contribute to improving quality of life, supporting family stability, and leaving a lasting impact for years, stemming from Al-Awwal’s commitment to supporting community initiatives that create real value for society and align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.”

This support continues Al-Awwal’s approach of directing its contributions towards quality initiatives that respond to community needs by building effective partnerships with non-profit sector institutions, contributing to expanding the scope of benefit from community initiatives and enhancing quality of life in various regions of the Kingdom.
