The Foreign Minister discusses regional issues with the Congressional Foreign Affairs Committee

As part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to enhance the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s standing on the international stage, His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, the Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs , held a series of important talks in Washington, D.C., today with prominent leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives, during his official visit to the United States.
Details of the meeting with the Foreign Affairs Committee
His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Representative Brian Mast, and the Committee's Vice Chairman, Representative Gregory Meeks, in the presence of several influential members of the Committee. The meeting focused on reviewing the deep-rooted historical relations between Riyadh and Washington and exploring ways to develop them in various fields to serve the common interests of the two friendly countries.
The meeting was attended by Her Royal Highness Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United States of America, and Advisor to His Highness the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Al-Yahya, reflecting the high importance that the Kingdom attaches to this diplomatic movement.
The depth of Saudi-American relations
This visit is a continuation of strategic relations spanning more than eight decades, beginning with the historic meeting between the founding King Abdulaziz Al Saud and US President Franklin Roosevelt. Saudi-American relations are considered a cornerstone of stability in the Middle East, as the two countries share unified visions on numerous global security and economic issues.
