King Salman Center distributes 900 cartons of dates in Al-Sum, Hadhramaut

As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the brotherly Yemeni people, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 900 cartons of dates in Al-Sum District, Hadramawt Governorate. This urgent food aid benefited 5,400 individuals from the most vulnerable families in the area, as part of the 2026 Dates Aid Distribution Project in the Republic of Yemen.
Project details and its nutritional importance
This distribution is part of a series of integrated projects implemented by the center to ensure food security in various Yemeni governorates. This aid is particularly important given the high nutritional value of dates, a staple food in the local diet, especially in light of the difficult living conditions faced by many Yemeni families. The project aims to bridge the food gap and provide essential needs for affected groups, ensuring them a dignified life and alleviating the impact of the humanitarian crisis.
The leading role of the King Salman Relief Center
Since its establishment, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has played a pivotal role in alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people. Its assistance has not been limited to food aid alone, but has encompassed multiple vital sectors such as health, shelter, water, and sanitation. This initiative in Hadramawt is an extension of the thousands of projects implemented by the Center throughout Yemen, which have directly contributed to saving lives and improving the livelihoods of millions of beneficiaries, thus reaffirming its position as one of the most effective humanitarian organizations in the region.
Context of the humanitarian crisis and local needs
This aid comes at a time when Yemen continues to face significant economic and humanitarian challenges, with UN and international reports indicating that millions of Yemenis require humanitarian assistance to survive. The Hadramawt Governorate, and Al-Sum District in particular, is among the areas that require ongoing intervention to support the social and economic well-being of families, especially displaced persons and host communities suffering from resource scarcity and soaring prices of basic food commodities.
The Kingdom's unwavering commitment to supporting Yemen
This aid embodies the deep fraternal ties and historical bonds that unite the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen. Through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Kingdom reaffirms its unwavering commitment to standing with its brothers and sisters in Yemen through all circumstances and crises. Through these sustainable programs, the Kingdom seeks not only to provide urgent relief but also to contribute to achieving developmental and social stability, reflecting its global leadership in humanitarian and volunteer work.
