The Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Export Development signs an agreement to support "Made in Saudi Arabia"

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing the global presence of Saudi products, His Excellency the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Latif bin Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, and His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Export Development Authority, signed a memorandum of understanding and joint cooperation. This agreement aims to promote Saudi industries and products and represents the culmination of integrated government efforts to support the national economy.
Details of the agreement and the signing date
The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the launch of the third edition of the “Made in Saudi Arabia” exhibition, held at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center under the theme “Building Empowerment” from December 15 to 17, 2025. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures, including the Syrian Minister of Economy and Industry, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Nidal Al-Shaar, and the CEO of the Saudi Export Development Authority, Engineer Abdulrahman bin Sulaiman Al-Thukair, along with a number of dignitaries and heads of major national companies.
Dimensions and strategic objectives of cooperation
This memorandum is not limited to protocol; it establishes a new phase of integration between government entities. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, with its international presence and influential platforms, along with the Saudi Export Development Authority, seeks to unify efforts to support the “Made in Saudi Arabia” program. Areas of cooperation include organizing reciprocal official visits, coordinating participation in international exhibitions and conferences, promoting leading national companies and factories, and exchanging expertise, information, and data that serve shared objectives.
Economic context and the Kingdom's Vision 2030
This agreement derives its significance from the context of Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes diversifying income sources and increasing non-oil exports. The “Made in Saudi Arabia” program is a key national initiative launched by the Saudi Export Development Authority, aiming to make Saudi products the preferred choice both domestically and internationally. By engaging the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, new channels are being opened to promote Saudi products in countries where the Ministry has a presence through its branches and centers, thus strengthening the Kingdom’s soft power and leveraging it to serve the national economy.
Implementation mechanisms and institutional integration
The memorandum included clear implementation mechanisms, most notably ongoing coordination in local and international engagements relevant to both parties' areas of expertise, and the exchange of data and information to achieve institutional integration. This cooperation underscores that supporting national industry is a shared responsibility requiring the combined efforts of various government sectors, striving to achieve sustainable development and enhance the Kingdom's position as a global industrial and logistics hub.
