Poultry markets are secure... 1.5 million tons of local production and comprehensive coverage of Hajj season needs

Confirmed Ministry of Environment Water and agriculture stabilized supply chains in the poultry sector, announcing significant leaps in production quantities, which are expected to exceed 1.5 million tons, thus recording a self-sufficiency rate exceeding 76% to support food security and the national economy.
Deputy Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Engineer Mansour Al-Mashiti, revealed during his chairmanship of an expanded meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters that the meeting’s outcomes provided definitive reassurance regarding the production of poultry meat and its products, ensuring price stability and meeting the increasing demand, especially during the Hajj season.

At a meeting that included the Public Authority for Food Security and the relevant national committees of the Federation of Chambers, Al-Mashiti reviewed the ministry's plans and model projects, which have resulted in providing large quantities of fresh meat and table eggs, in addition to supporting local feed producers to boost investments.
Official statistics for the first quarter of 2026 showed that the top ten companies accounted for 85% of local production, with monthly broiler chicken production reaching 125,470 tons in March, supported by a strategic reserve of nearly 16,278 tons.
He also addressed meeting consumer demand by producing approximately 77,000 tons of large chickens weighing over 1,500 grams, noting that four new companies began actual production at the beginning of this month to supply retail markets.
The ministry concluded its key indicators by estimating daily table egg production at more than 24 million eggs, while maintaining safe reserves exceeding 26.6 million eggs by the end of March, equivalent to approximately 74,000 cartons, to ensure the continued flow of goods in the markets.
