The Minister of Industry inspects Ras Al-Khair port and Ma'aden mining facilities

A strategic inspection tour to support the mining sector

His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, conducted a strategic inspection visit that included Ras Al-Khair Port and several industrial facilities belonging to Ma’aden, in addition to the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu’s operations center in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City. This visit comes within the framework of the government’s ongoing efforts to assess the readiness of vital facilities, monitor the efficiency of supply chains, and ensure the smooth flow of transportation and shipping, thereby guaranteeing business continuity and enhancing the resilience of industrial performance amidst rapid regional and global developments.

The strategic importance of Ras Al-Khair city according to Vision 2030

Ras Al-Khair Industrial City is a cornerstone in achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, specifically within the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP). Established to be the mining capital of the Kingdom, it directly contributes to diversifying national income sources and reducing dependence on oil. Ras Al-Khair Port a vital artery connecting Saudi mineral exports to global markets, thus reinforcing the Kingdom's position as a key player in the international mining sector.

Developing logistics operations and supporting supply chains

During his tour of the port, His Excellency Minister Al-Khorayef was briefed on the logistics operations, transportation and shipping activities, and mineral export flows. He also received a detailed explanation of the port's support services and facilities, which play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability of operations, enhancing the efficiency of supply chains, and strengthening the close link between industrial and mining activities, thus positively impacting the global competitiveness of Saudi products.

Inspecting Ma'aden's phosphate and aluminum facilities

In a related context, the inspection visit included the Ma'aden Phosphate Complex, one of the world's largest integrated phosphate fertilizer production complexes, which significantly contributes to global food security. There, His Excellency reviewed the operational readiness and response systems in the crisis and disaster emergency room, emphasizing the paramount importance of adhering to the highest standards of safety and environmental sustainability. He also visited Ma'aden Aluminum Company, where he was briefed on the company's expansion plans and production capacities, highlighting the integrated roles of government agencies and private sector establishments in supporting industrial and mining growth.

Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu Readiness

Al-Khurayyif concluded his visit by inspecting the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu's operations center in Ras Al-Khair. He toured the operations coordination and monitoring room, the fire station, and the field monitoring and response system. He commended the center's advanced infrastructure and the qualified national personnel who manage the system efficiently and effectively, ensuring a safe and stable investment environment.

His Excellency was accompanied on this important inspection tour by a high-level delegation that included the Chairman of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Engineer Khalid bin Mohammed Al-Salem; the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs, Engineer Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer; the CEO of the Royal Commission in Jubail, Engineer Mahmoud bin Saleh Al-Dheeb; and the CEO of the Saudi Export Development Authority, Engineer Bader bin Sulaiman Al-Huraish. This broad participation reflects the government's commitment to developing the mining sector and establishing it as the third pillar of Saudi industry.
