Urgent response to the humanitarian crisis in Sudan
This distribution comes at a time when Sudan is facing a highly complex humanitarian crisis, with the current situation leading to large-scale displacement and severe shortages of food and basic necessities. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre, is working to bridge this gap by providing direct food assistance to the most vulnerable families, aiming to alleviate their suffering and provide them with a dignified life amidst the difficult economic and living conditions.
The "Madad" initiative: A bridge of goodness and giving
This aid falls under the umbrella of the "Madad" initiative, one of the center's key initiatives to ensure sustainable food security in affected areas. The center's role extends beyond immediate distribution; through its strategic plans, it strives to reach the most vulnerable groups in Khartoum State and other Sudanese states, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most with high professionalism and in accordance with international humanitarian standards.
The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work
This aid embodies the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's leading role in humanitarian relief at both the regional and international levels. Since its establishment, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has consistently provided assistance to those in need across the globe without discrimination, and the Sudanese crisis is currently among the Center's top priorities. These efforts underscore the deep fraternal ties between the Saudi and Sudanese peoples and the Kingdom's commitment to Sudan's stability and the well-being of its citizens by providing a food safety net that will help overcome the current crisis.
The center continues to monitor the situation on the ground in Sudan to assess the growing needs and work to meet them, whether through relief air bridges or through local and international partners, to ensure the continued flow of humanitarian, medical and food aid to those affected in all areas.
