The Coalition to Support Legitimacy launches the official spokesperson's account on X

The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition (Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen), in a move aimed at enhancing media communication and keeping pace with digital transformation, announced the launch of the official account of the official spokesman for the Coalition Forces, Major General Turki Al-Maliki, on the social media platform “X” (formerly Twitter).
The command explained that the new account has the ID ( @CJFCSpox ) and will serve as the official and sole channel for publishing military data, official clarifications, and highlighting the field and humanitarian efforts made by the coalition, thus making it easier for the media and the public to access accurate information from its direct source.
The importance of this step in light of the media war
This move comes at a crucial time, as social media platforms play a pivotal role in shaping public opinion. Through this account, the coalition aims to counter rumors and misinformation that may be spread by hostile actors, and to provide an official platform characterized by credibility and speed in disseminating information. Having a verified official account for the spokesperson is part of the modern communication strategy adopted by major military institutions worldwide to ensure transparency and clarity in information dissemination.
Historical background on the alliance and its role
The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen was established in March 2015, led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in response to an official request from Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi to restore legitimacy and protect the Yemeni people from the coup carried out by the Houthi militias. Since the launch of Operation Decisive Storm and then Operation Restoring Hope, the Coalition has worked on two parallel tracks: a military track aimed at neutralizing the militias' advanced capabilities and securing international navigation, and a massive humanitarian and development track led by the Kingdom through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center.
The role of the official spokesperson in documenting facts
The position of official spokesperson for the Coalition Forces is a vital interface for military operations, a role assumed by Major General Turki al-Maliki, succeeding Major General Ahmed Asiri. Press conferences and statements issued by the spokesperson have been distinguished by their presentation of material and intelligence evidence documenting foreign interference in Yemen and violations of international humanitarian law by the militias, in addition to providing precise details of targeted operations. The new account on X is expected to contribute to archiving these efforts and facilitating their global dissemination, thereby strengthening the Coalition's legal and ethical standing before the international community.
This launch confirms the Joint Forces Command’s commitment to international standards of disclosure and transparency, and its keenness to inform local, regional and international public opinion about developments in Yemen, whether operational or humanitarian, in a way that serves the goal of restoring the Yemeni state and achieving security and stability in the region.
