Temperatures in Saudi Arabia: Dammam 22°C, Mecca 30°C, and today's weather forecast

The National Center for Meteorology in Saudi Arabia announced on Monday details of the maximum temperatures recorded in various regions and cities of the Kingdom. The data showed a remarkable variation in the climatic conditions between the coastal areas, the mountainous highlands, and the central regions, reflecting the great geographical diversity that the country enjoys.
Temperature details in Saudi cities
Dammam recorded 22 degrees Celsius, while Mecca, Jeddah, and Jazan topped the list of hottest cities with 30 degrees Celsius, indicating continued relatively warm weather in the western and coastal regions. In contrast, the mountainous and northern regions experienced a noticeable drop in temperature, with Al-Baha recording the lowest maximum temperature at 14 degrees Celsius.
The details of the maximum temperatures for the rest of the cities are as follows:
- Medina, Tabuk, and Sharurah: 22 degrees Celsius.
- Wadi Al-Dawasir: 21 degrees Celsius.
- Najran and Al-Kharj: 19 degrees Celsius.
- Sakaka: 18 degrees Celsius.
- Riyadh and Arar: 17 degrees Celsius.
- Abha, Buraidah, Hail, Al Majmaah and Al Dawadmi: 16 degrees Celsius.
Weather phenomena: fog and rain
Regarding the weather conditions and associated phenomena, the National Center for Meteorology predicted in its report that the sky would be partly cloudy to cloudy across most regions. The report also indicated a chance of light rain, which may affect parts of the southwestern highlands of the Kingdom, urging caution for motorists in those areas.
The center also issued an important alert regarding reduced horizontal visibility due to fog formation, as this phenomenon is expected to continue affecting parts of the Riyadh region, the Eastern Province, and the Northern Borders region. Fog is a weather phenomenon that requires adherence to traffic safety rules, especially during the early morning and late night hours.
Climate diversity in the Kingdom and its impact
This daily report reflects the natural climatic variations in Saudi Arabia, given its vast area and diverse topography. While coastal cities like Jeddah and Dammam enjoy a climate influenced by bodies of water (the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf), maintaining mild to warm temperatures, inland and highland regions such as Hail and Al-Baha experience cooler temperatures, especially during these transitional periods of the year.
The National Center of Meteorology's reports play a vital role in the daily lives of citizens and residents. This accurate data helps in planning daily activities and choosing appropriate clothing, in addition to its crucial importance in the transportation, agriculture, and outdoor events sectors. It is always advisable to follow the continuous weather updates, especially when planning intercity travel, given the warnings of fog or rain.
