As part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's ongoing humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center its impactful initiatives. The Center announced its sponsorship of treatment for 42 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip in hospitals in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This step comes as part of an urgent response to alleviate the suffering of patients facing dire health conditions.

The new batch has arrived and treatment has begun

The Jordanian capital, Amman, received 30 new patients from the Gaza Strip, who were immediately transferred to the King Hussein Cancer Center . Specialized medical teams began conducting the necessary medical examinations and assessing their cases to develop appropriate treatment plans. These patients join 12 others who arrived previously, bringing the total number of cases currently being monitored by the center to 42, all of whom are receiving the latest treatment protocols under close medical supervision.

Context of the health crisis in Gaza

This initiative is of paramount importance given the deteriorating health situation in the Gaza Strip. Since the recent conflict, the health system in the Strip has been under immense pressure, leading to the closure of many hospitals and a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies, particularly those related to chronic and serious illnesses such as cancer. Cancer patients in Gaza face a double threat due to power outages and the difficulty in accessing chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, making the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's initiative a true lifeline for saving the lives of these patients.

Comprehensive care and international coordination

The initiative not only covers medical costs but also fully covers all basic living expenses for patients and their companions throughout their stay in Jordan. The evacuation and transfer of patients was carried out through a meticulous logistical process in cooperation with the World Health Organization and in close coordination with Jordanian authorities and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Amman, to ensure their safe and comfortable arrival.

Strategic agreements and a leading role

These efforts are in line with the joint cooperation agreement signed by the center in 2024 with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center. These initiatives reflect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's unwavering commitment to supporting humanitarian causes in the Arab world and reaffirm its position as a beacon of international relief work. The Kingdom consistently strives to extend a helping hand to those in need and those affected by disasters across the globe, stemming from its deeply rooted Islamic and humanitarian values.
