The Cabinet transfers the responsibility for compensating disaster victims from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Municipalities - Urgent

approved The Cabinet amendments to several regulations concerning the disbursement of government aid to those affected by natural disasters.
These amendments included transferring certain responsibilities from the Ministry of Finance to the Ministry of Municipalities and Housing, a move aimed at enhancing the efficiency of compensation and relief efforts and expediting procedures for supporting those affected.

Government aid to victims of natural disasters

According to the decision, it was decided to replace the phrase “Ministry of Municipalities and Housing” with the phrase “Ministry of Finance” in paragraphs (5) and (6) of the fifth item of the regulations and procedures for disbursing aid provided by the state to those affected by disasters such as floods, fires and the like, issued by Cabinet Resolution No. (246) dated 9/21/1426 AH.

The amendment also included replacing the Ministry of Finance with the phrase “Ministry of Municipalities and Housing” in subparagraph (b) of paragraph (3),
as well as paragraph (4) of the first item of Cabinet Resolution No. (140) dated 10/3/1439 AH, reflecting a reorganization of government roles related to support and compensation for those affected.
