Al-Qadisiyah defeats Al-Hazm 5-1 and climbs to fourth place in the Roshan League

Al-Qadisiyah Football Club’s first team achieved a resounding and well-deserved victory over its host Al-Hazm with a heavy score of five goals to one, in the exciting match that brought the two teams together this evening on the grounds of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Buraidah, as part of the competitions of the sixteenth round of the Saudi Professional League (Roshan League).

A fiery second half and a goal fest for Al-Qadsia

The match witnessed a clear technical superiority from the visitors, especially in the second half, which saw a collapse in Al-Hazm's defense. Al-Qadisiyah's five goals were scored by professional player Mathieu Retegui in the 56th minute, young star Musab Al-Juwair in the 61st minute, and professional player Julian Quinones in the 73rd minute. An own goal by Al-Hazm's Ahmed Al-Nakhli in the 81st minute further increased the score, before Mohammed Abu Al-Shamat completed the rout with the fifth goal in stoppage time (90+4). Al-Hazm's consolation goal came from Abu Bakr Bah in the 86th minute.

Significant changes in the standings

With this resounding victory, Al-Qadisiyah continued their climb towards the top of the standings, raising their points tally to 33 and temporarily jumping to fourth place in the league table, pending the results of the remaining matches in this round. This rise underscores Al-Qadisiyah's ambition to secure a spot in continental competitions next season. Conversely, Al-Hazm's situation worsened, remaining stuck on 16 points in eleventh place, placing them in a precarious position and in dire need of turning things around in the upcoming rounds to avoid getting embroiled in the complexities of relegation.

Al-Qadisiyah: A strong comeback and an ambitious project

This victory is more than just three fleeting points; it reflects the significant progress Al-Qadisiyah has made this season. Since Saudi Aramco's acquisition of the club, the team has undergone a qualitative leap in both foreign and domestic player signings, making it a fierce competitor to the top four clubs (Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, and Al-Ahli). The strong attacking performance in this match reflects the high level of harmony among the team members and their meticulous tactical work, sending a clear message to the other rivals that Al-Qadisiyah has returned to being a force to be reckoned with in Saudi football.

High competitiveness in the Roshan League

This result underscores the rising competitiveness of the Saudi Professional League, which has garnered global attention thanks to its attraction of football's brightest stars. The technical gaps are narrowing due to the substantial support provided to the clubs, and today's match proved that playing away from home is no longer an obstacle for ambitious teams seeking decisive victories, promising an exceptional and fiercely contested season right up to the final rounds.
