Casemiro rejects United fans' request... Will he move to Al-Ittihad?

Manchester United star Casemiro has refused to back down from his decision to leave Old Trafford at the end of the current 2025-2026 season.

The Brazilian player had announced last January that he would leave Manchester United when his contract expired on June 30, but his club's fans chanted "One more year" after he scored a goal in the 3-1 win over Aston Villa on March 15.

The crowd's chants will not change the decision

Casemiro said, in comments reported by The Athletic following his country's friendly against France yesterday (Thursday): "I still enjoy myself a lot at Manchester United, it's a lot of love from the fans towards me, but I really think the decision has been made and it's over.".

The Brazilian midfielder added: "I think these last games for me with Manchester United will be difficult moments.".

Federal anticipation

ESPN reported this week that Casemiro is among Al-Ittihad's targets to strengthen their midfield next season on a free transfer, in anticipation of Fabinho's departure.

The network explained that the potential signing of Casemiro is linked to Fabinho's future, as his contract is set to expire at the end of the current season, and if it is not renewed, the Al-Ittihad management will move towards signing his fellow Brazilian.
