Crown Prince and Emir of Qatar discuss relations and regional developments – Details

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, received a telephone call today, Thursday, from his brother, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar. This call comes within the framework of ongoing consultation and continuous coordination between the leaderships of the two brotherly countries, in a manner that serves the interests of both peoples and enhances the stability of the region.
Review of the long-standing fraternal relations
During the call, the strong fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar were reviewed, along with ways to enhance and develop them in various fields. Saudi-Qatari relations are characterized by their deep historical and social ties, based on kinship and a shared destiny under the umbrella of the Gulf Cooperation Council. These relations have witnessed remarkable development and qualitative leaps in recent years, particularly after the Al-Ula Declaration, which established a new phase of fruitful cooperation and strategic integration among the GCC states.
Coordinating positions on regional and international issues
The call also addressed regional and international developments of mutual interest. Given the sensitive circumstances in the Middle East, this coordination between Riyadh and Doha is of paramount importance. Both countries play a pivotal role in shaping the region's political landscape, with both the Kingdom and Qatar striving to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate tensions and resolve current crises. The convergence of visions between the two leaderships is a cornerstone for strengthening regional security and peace, and for confronting the challenges facing the region.
Strategic partnership and future visions
On the economic and developmental front, the two countries share ambitious visions for the future, embodied in the Kingdom's Vision 2030 and Qatar's National Vision 2030. This connection supports the efforts undertaken through the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council, which serves as the institutional framework for developing bilateral relations and working on joint initiatives aimed at diversifying the economy, enhancing mutual investments, and increasing trade. The continued communication between the Crown Prince and the Emir of Qatar underscores the two countries' commitment to advancing Gulf integration, thereby achieving prosperity and well-being for all the peoples of the region.
