King Salman Center treats 1,587 beneficiaries in Hajjah as part of efforts to combat epidemics

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued to strengthen the health care system in the sisterly Republic of Yemen, as the Emergency Center for Epidemic Disease Control in Hiran District, Hajjah Governorate, provided its integrated treatment services to 1,587 beneficiaries, during the period from December 10 to 16, 2025, as part of the ongoing efforts to reduce the spread of epidemics and provide medical care to the most needy groups.

Details of the therapeutic services provided

Recent statistics show a diversity in the medical services provided, encompassing various age groups and medical conditions. These services are distributed as follows:

  • The Epidemic Disease Control Clinic received the largest number of visitors, with 660 patients, reflecting the vital role of the center in combating communicable diseases.
  • Emergency and Children's Clinic: Provided care to 551 children, in light of the urgent need to care for this vulnerable group.
  • Internal Medicine Clinic: 376 patients benefited from it and received the necessary diagnosis and treatment.

Support and environmental services

The center's efforts were not limited to medical examinations alone, but included an integrated system of support services to ensure the quality of healthcare:

  • The laboratory department reviewed 457 patients for detailed laboratory tests.
  • The pharmacy dispensed free medications to 1,541 beneficiaries.
  • The observation ward received 462 patients to closely monitor their health conditions.
  • In the field of environmental health, 4 specialized activities were implemented for the safe disposal of medical waste, to ensure a safe and healthy environment that prevents the transmission of infection.

The importance of health support in Hajjah Governorate

These efforts are of exceptional importance given the critical health situation in Hajjah Governorate, a densely populated region facing significant challenges to its health infrastructure. The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's support for the Epidemic Disease Control Center in Hayran District serves as a first line of defense to protect the population from outbreaks of infectious diseases such as cholera, malaria, and dengue fever, which often thrive in areas lacking medical resources and clean water.

The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work

This support comes as an extension of the leading role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, in alleviating the suffering of the brotherly Yemeni people. This assistance goes beyond the traditional concept of relief to include supporting the sustainability of the health sector, securing medical supplies, and operating hospitals and health centers in various Yemeni governorates. This directly contributes to reducing mortality rates and improving the quality of life for thousands of Yemeni families who depend entirely on these free services.
