With a goal from Riyad Mahrez, Al Ahli defeated Al Duhail

The national representative, Al-Ahli team, qualified for the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League Elite after defeating its guest, Al-Duhail of Qatar, by one goal to nil in the match that brought them together at Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, as part of the round of 16 matches of the tournament.

Al Ahli nearly took an early lead after a mistake by Al Duhail goalkeeper Salah Zakaria, who misjudged a pass to Riyad Mahrez, who headed the ball towards goal. However, Zakaria managed to catch it. Al Duhail responded through Benjamin, whose free kick struck the post. In the second half, Ibanez fired a powerful shot that went just wide, followed by shots from Galino and Riyad Mahrez. The crossbar denied Al Duhail's Adel Boulbeine.

In extra time, the Chinese referee, Ning Ma, awarded a penalty kick to Al-Ahli, which Ivan Toni took, but goalkeeper Salah saved it, and the ball returned to Toni, who shot it wide. Al-Ahli scored the first goal (117th minute) from a free kick successfully executed by Riyad Mahrez. The match ended with Al-Ahli winning by one goal to nil and officially qualifying for the quarter-finals, while Al-Duhail left the tournament.
