The Saudi city of Jeddah witnessed a significant cinematic event with the premiere of the Egyptian comedy film "Barshama," following its unprecedented box office success in Egypt. The film boasts a stellar cast of comedy and drama stars, including Hesham Maged, Reham Abdel Ghafour, Mustafa Gharib, and Hatem Salah. It is directed by the acclaimed Khaled Diab and co-written by Ahmed El Zoghbi and Sherine Diab.
The film attracted considerable attention after its revenues exceeded 119 million Egyptian pounds, setting a record as the highest weekly opening in the history of Egyptian cinema with the sale of about 800,000 tickets, in addition to achieving the highest daily revenue of more than 23 million pounds, making it one of the most successful commercial works in recent times.

Actor Hesham Maged, who plays the character "Abdel Hamid," explained that the idea for the film was presented to him years ago by director Khaled Diab, and he was impressed by the unique and distinctive dramatic treatment. He considers the exam committee a microcosm of society, revealing the diversity of personalities and backgrounds. For his part, actor Mustafa Gharib indicated that he plays the role of the mayor's son, whose fate is tied to passing the exam to ensure his father's continued position.
