The Kingdom wins 3 international awards at the European Girls' Informatics Olympiad

Out of 68 countries, and with the participation of more than 248 female students, achieved Saudi Informatics Team 3 international awards in European Girls' Informatics Olympiad 2026 (EGOI).
And it was held in the city Cezenateco In Italy during the period from May 12 to 18, 2026.

Saudi Arabia wins awards at the European Girls' Informatics Olympiad

Student Reem Ali Al-Mutawa from the General Directorate of Education in Al-Ahsa Governorate won a bronze medal, while students Maryam Mohammed Al-Jawad and Ayat Hussein Al-Khalifa from the General Directorate of Education in the Eastern Province received certificates of appreciation.
This brings the Kingdom's total in this competition to 10 international awards, including two silver medals, six bronze medals, and two certificates of appreciation.

The Kingdom is participating in the European Girls' Informatics Olympiad, represented by the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba”, in partnership with the Ministry of Education, for the fifth time on a regular basis since 2022.
This comes as an extension of “Mawhiba’s” efforts to qualify male and female students for international scientific competitions, with a quality training journey that begins from the stages of discovery and nomination, through local competitions and intensive training camps, until the Kingdom is represented in international forums.

European Girls' Informatics Olympiad

The European Girls' Informatics Olympiad (EGYPA) is an annual international individual programming competition for girls interested in computer science. It focuses on solving advanced algorithmic and programming problems that require high-level skills in analysis, design, and implementation.
Launched in Zurich, Switzerland in 2021, the competition aims to deepen girls' interest in computer science, encourage international competition, discover and support talented girls, and build inspiring female role models. It also fosters cultural exchange and friendly relations among participants, teachers, and computer scientists from different countries.
Mawhiba is a leading global institution in discovering, nurturing, and empowering talented individuals. It works to implement a national strategy for discovering and developing talent in scientific fields of national priority, contributing to building a knowledge-based society and promoting a culture of innovation.
