With a "killer" goal... Al Ahly stuns Smouha in the Egyptian League

Al-Ahly regained its balance in the Egyptian League competition after a killer victory over its guest Smouha by two goals to one, in the match that brought them together yesterday (Saturday) at Cairo International Stadium, as part of the second round of the coronation stage.

Al Ahly had only managed one point out of a possible six in their last two matches in the tournament, having lost to Tala’ea El Gaish 2-1 and drawn with Ceramica Cleopatra.

Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” opened the scoring for Al Ahly in the 24th minute, but Samuel Amadi equalized for Smouha before the end of the first half.

Al Ahly scored a killer goal in the 90+2 minute, scored by Taher Mohamed Taher, to keep their hopes alive in the competition for the Egyptian League title.

Team standings

With this result, Al Ahly raised its tally to 44 points in third place in the Egyptian League standings, trailing Pyramids in second place on goal difference, and two points behind leaders Zamalek, with one game remaining for both Pyramids and Zamalek.

In contrast, Smouha's tally remained frozen at 31 points in seventh place, after suffering their second consecutive defeat in the championship stage.
