King Salman Center distributes winter clothes to children in Gaza
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center continued its ongoing humanitarian efforts in the Gaza Strip, distributing complete winter clothing sets to children in schools and kindergartens across various areas in the central part of the Strip. This initiative comes in response to the urgent need to provide warmth for the most vulnerable groups, as part of the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people .
Field teams from the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage – the implementing partner of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in Gaza – participated in the distribution operations according to a well-organized logistical plan. The plan aimed to reach the widest possible range of students to ensure equitable distribution, bringing joy to the children and helping to alleviate the burden on their families amidst harsh economic and living conditions.
The importance of timing and the impact of aid
This relief intervention is of paramount importance given its timing with the drop in temperatures and the onset of winter, at a time when the sector is suffering from a severe shortage of heating and fuel, in addition to the damage to thousands of homes and shelters. Winter clothing at this time serves as a protective shield for children against cold-related illnesses and helps them resume their education after periods of disruption, providing them with a safer and more dignified learning environment.
Context of the Saudi popular campaign
This aid falls under the umbrella of the Saudi popular campaign to aid the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Prime Minister. Since its inception, this campaign has successfully raised substantial financial donations, reflecting the solidarity of the Saudi people with their Palestinian brothers and sisters. These donations have been channeled into land relief convoys and air and sea bridges that have transported thousands of tons of food, medical supplies, and shelter materials.
The Kingdom's leading role in humanitarian work
This project reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's longstanding and unwavering commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause on all levels, particularly the humanitarian level. Through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, the Kingdom works to bridge the gap in basic needs and bolster the resilience of the Palestinian people in the face of successive crises. Aid is not limited to food and clothing, but extends to the health sector and the provision of potable water, placing the Kingdom at the forefront of donor countries and supporters of humanitarian work in the region.
