The Spears of Victory 2026 military exercises have commenced in Saudi Arabia with the participation of 15 countries

Today, the Air Warfare Center in the Eastern Sector of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia witnessed the launch of the joint exercise maneuvers “Spears of Victory 2026”, which is one of the largest and most important military exercises in the region, with broad participation from the branches of the Saudi Armed Forces, the Ministry of the National Guard and the Presidency of State Security, in addition to forces from 15 brotherly and friendly countries, and the Unified Military Command of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.

Strengthening military alliances and partnerships

This edition of the “Spears of Victory” exercise builds upon the successes of previous iterations. Its primary objective is to enhance joint military operations and deepen strategic partnerships among participating nations. This year’s participating countries include the Kingdom of Bahrain, Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan, Morocco, Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, and Bangladesh, alongside major international powers such as the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, and Greece. This broad participation reflects the Kingdom’s strategic importance and its ability to forge alliances to ensure the security and stability of the region.

Air Warfare Center: A state-of-the-art training environment

The Eastern Sector's Air Warfare Center, a state-of-the-art training facility comparable to the world's finest, is hosting this exercise. The center provides a realistic operational environment that simulates modern warfare scenarios, allowing aircrews and technicians to test combat systems and evaluate military tactics in conditions closely resembling real combat. This advanced environment is crucial for enhancing combat readiness and honing participants' skills in dealing with complex threats.

Scenarios simulating modern warfare

The “Spears of Victory 2026” exercise is not limited to traditional air operations but extends to encompass the multidimensional aspects of modern warfare. Participating forces will focus on executing precise tactical operations, including joint planning, air engagement, and ground support, with a strong emphasis on electronic and cyber warfare. This integration of traditional military operations and modern technologies aims to enhance the forces' readiness to confront emerging threats and unify combat concepts among the various military schools (Eastern and Western) participating in the exercise.

The strategic importance of the exercise

This exercise is of paramount importance given the security challenges facing the world, as it sends a clear message about the readiness of the participating forces to deter any aggression and protect shared interests. It also contributes to enhancing operational coordination and integration, thereby strengthening regional and international security and stability. Through the exchange of expertise among different military schools, the exercise ensures the development of combat plans and the evaluation of the effectiveness of modern weapons and systems, thus placing the participating forces at the highest level of combat readiness.
