The Ministry of Islamic Affairs distributes winter bags at the Qiblatain Mosque in Medina

As part of its ongoing efforts to promote social solidarity and encourage volunteer work, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, represented by its branch in the Madinah region – Human Resources Department (Volunteer Work Section), organized a distinguished humanitarian initiative: a volunteer opportunity to distribute winter kits. This event took place on Thursday, the 20th of Jumada al-Thani, 1447 AH, at the Qiblatain Mosque in Madinah, coinciding with the onset of winter and the drop in temperatures.
The initiative included distributing comprehensive winter kits containing clothing and supplies to help protect against the cold weather, as well as providing light meals to visitors and mosque staff. The event was characterized by a spiritual atmosphere reflecting brotherhood and cooperation, as volunteers worked together to serve visitors of all ages and nationalities at this prominent Islamic landmark, leaving a positive impression on all who benefited.
Promoting a culture of volunteerism and aligning with the national vision,
this initiative is an extension of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs' strategy to support the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which places great importance on volunteer work and aspires to reach one million volunteers. The Ministry is working diligently to offer diverse volunteer opportunities that serve mosques and their worshippers, contributing to instilling the values of giving and generosity in young men and women, and transforming individual energies into development projects that serve the local community.
The Qiblatain Mosque: Symbolism of Place and Grandeur of Message.
The choice of the Qiblatain Mosque for this initiative is not merely because it is a place of prayer; this mosque holds profound historical and Islamic significance, as it witnessed the change of the qibla (direction of prayer) from Al-Aqsa Mosque to the Grand Mosque in Mecca. The mosque receives large numbers of visitors and pilgrims throughout the year, especially during religious seasons. Therefore, providing volunteer services in such a location takes on added importance, combining the sanctity of the time and place with serving the guests of God and the residents of Medina.
humanitarian and social dimensions
that extend beyond mere material distribution; they focus on strengthening social responsibility and instilling the principles of compassion among members of the community. The warm gesture offered by the Ministry through these winter kits conveys a noble message, affirming that government institutions are an integral part of the social fabric and that caring for mosque-goers and staff is a top priority, thus contributing to a positive and conducive environment for worship and tranquility.
