Saudi-Jordanian Business Forum: Signing of 5 strategic agreements and partnerships

The Saudi capital, Riyadh, witnessed significant economic activity today with the launch of the Saudi-Jordanian Business Forum , organized by the Federation of Saudi Chambers in cooperation with the Jordan Chamber of Commerce. The forum saw wide participation, with over 200 companies and investors from both countries, in a move aimed at exploring promising investment opportunities and strengthening economic integration between the two sister kingdoms.
Historical depth and strategic partnership
This step comes as a continuation of the long-standing and deeply rooted historical relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, characterized by ongoing coordination at the highest levels. This cooperation is not limited to trade alone, but extends to strategic and geopolitical dimensions, as Jordan serves as a vital gateway for Saudi exports to regional markets, while Saudi Arabia represents Jordan's strategic and economic depth. The forum reflects the desire of both leaderships to translate these fraternal relations into tangible development projects that serve the interests of both peoples.
Quality agreements and promising paths
The forum culminated in the signing of five joint cooperation agreements covering multiple vital sectors, reflecting the diversity of partnership areas. The Saudi-Jordanian Joint Business Council held intensive meetings, including bilateral (B2B) meetings between private sector representatives, aimed at building new business alliances.
The specialized meetings of the sectoral committees focused on drawing up a clear roadmap for cooperation in strategic areas including:
- Food security and agriculture: to promote self-sufficiency and supply chains.
- Energy and mining: Utilizing the natural resources of both countries, especially phosphates.
- Logistics and transport: Developing the link between ports and land transport networks.
- The health and pharmaceutical sector: exchanging experiences and localizing medical industries.
- Technology and the digital economy: keeping pace with the global digital transformation.
Figures reflecting the strength of the economy
Speaking in terms of figures, Emad Saddad Al-Fakhri, Vice President of the Federation of Saudi Chambers, affirmed that Saudi Arabia is Jordan's leading trading partner in the Arab world and ranks third globally. He noted that the volume of trade exchange has exceeded $5 billion , while mutual investments have reached more than $24 billion by 2024. The Kingdom's Vision 2030 plays a pivotal role in this growth, having created an attractive legislative and investment environment that has encouraged the Jordanian private sector to expand its presence in the Saudi market.
Integration of visions and the economic future
For his part, the Chairman of the Saudi-Jordanian Business Council, Engineer Abdulrahman Hassan Al-Thubaiti, stressed the need to move from the stage of traditional trade exchange to a stage of “sustainable economic integration.” He explained that the current focus is on logistics connectivity projects and the development of the knowledge economy, in addition to partnerships in regional reconstruction projects, making this forum a truly effective implementation platform.
In the same context, the head of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, Khalil Al-Hajj Tawfiq, praised the economic renaissance that Saudi Arabia is witnessing, stressing that the gap in the trade balance in favor of Saudi Arabia represents an opportunity for industrial integration instead of competition, calling for taking advantage of the geographical proximity and distinguished political relations to maximize economic gains.
The regional importance of the event
This event is particularly significant given the global economic challenges, as both countries seek to form a strong economic bloc that will bolster their resilience against international fluctuations. Dr. Haitham Abu Al-Foul, Jordan's ambassador to the Kingdom, affirms that Jordan's investment environment, supported by global free trade agreements and a highly qualified workforce, complements the immense opportunities presented by Saudi Vision 2030, thus opening up broad horizons for a bright economic future for the entire region.
