Sales by productive families in the Saihat Association exceed 99,000 riyals

Empowering productive families: A developmental and economic vision

Initiatives to support productive families one of the most important pillars on which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia relies to strengthen the local economy and empower society, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. In this context, the productive families affiliated with the Saihat Association for Social Services, known as “Saada”, recorded a remarkable presence and a distinguished economic achievement during the months of February and March, as the total sales amounted to 94,572 Saudi Riyals (approximately 99,000 Riyals).

General context and historical background of community support

The Saihat Social Services Association was established as one of the oldest charitable organizations in the Kingdom and has long been committed to social welfare and development in the Eastern Province. With economic development, the focus has shifted from welfare to development. This latest achievement is the result of strategic collaboration and ongoing support from the Social Development Bank, the primary institution for financing and supporting micro-enterprises in Saudi Arabia, with the aim of creating sustainable employment opportunities and improving living standards.

Details of events and sales in the Eastern Province

The events saw the participation of 39 productive families. The venues varied, encompassing vibrant and popular locations such as the waterfront in Qatif Governorate, the Dammam Corniche, and the Al-Rams project. This geographical diversity directly contributed to broadening the reach to different segments of the public, thus enhancing marketing and sales opportunities.

The participants were distributed across 5 main events, the results of which were as follows:

  • The “Nasifa and Hilal” event topped the list with the highest sales, totaling 48,715 riyals, with the participation of 14 families. “Nasifa” is a deeply rooted folk tradition in the Eastern Province that enjoys widespread popularity.
  • The “Abaya Gallery” event achieved excellent sales of 27,655 riyals, reflecting the local market’s interest in national fashion and designs.
  • The “Eid Nights” event recorded sales of 12,922 riyals.
  • National and community participation: This included participation in the “Dammam Market” and “Founding Day” events, which increased the connection of the products to the authentic Saudi identity.

The economic and social importance of the event

At the local and regional levels, this success represents a significant step towards empowering families and transforming them into productive and active members of society. The injection of these funds into the local economy through micro-enterprises reflects the market's dynamism and its capacity to absorb local products. These initiatives also contribute to preserving intangible heritage and traditional crafts, presenting them in a modern and sustainable commercial format.

Quality programs and a sustainable vision for the “Saada” Association

In this developmental context, Ms. Ghada Al-Saif, Director of Development Programs at the Saihat Association, explained that these participations are part of a strategic approach to empowering productive families and enhancing their market readiness. She noted, “Providing marketing opportunities for productive families is one of the most important enablers of sustainability for their projects, and we are keen to diversify their participation in ways that strengthen their presence, increase their competitiveness, and help them achieve a stable income.”.

Al-Saif emphasized that the association continues to provide quality programs in cooperation with its partners to develop the skills of these families and open multiple marketing channels, thus achieving a sustainable developmental impact that serves the individual and society.
