National Water Company completes a sewage project in Wadi Al-Dawasir for 70 million

In a move reflecting the accelerated pace of development and infrastructure improvement in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the National Water Company announced the completion of a vital wastewater network project in Wadi Al-Dawasir Governorate, Riyadh Region. This project, costing nearly 70 million riyals, will serve a large segment of the governorate's population, aligning with the company's commitment to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, which aims to enhance the efficiency of environmental services and improve the quality of life for citizens and residents.
Project details and scope of service
The company explained in its statement that the new project included laying sewage networks of varying diameters and exceeding 60 kilometers in length, designed and implemented according to the highest engineering standards. This project aims directly to mitigate environmental damage and serve more than 16,000 beneficiaries. The coverage included several vital neighborhoods in the governorate, namely: Al-Nuwaymah, Al-Quwayz, Al-Zuwayrah, Al-Muqabil, and Al-Ladam Al-Shamali, in addition to parts of the Nizwa neighborhood. This expansion is part of the overall strategic plan to increase sewage service coverage in areas experiencing population and urban growth.
Strategic context and importance of the project
This project is of particular importance given the geographical location of Wadi Al-Dawasir Governorate, one of the most important agricultural and residential areas in the Riyadh region. The presence of advanced sewage networks not only facilitates the transfer of wastewater but also plays a crucial role in protecting groundwater from contamination, which is of paramount importance in agricultural areas. Furthermore, the project benefits public health by eliminating stagnant water pools and unpleasant odors, thus enhancing the urban landscape of the governorate.
These efforts are aligned with the National Water Strategy, which aims to ensure the sustainability of water resources and protect the environment. The National Water Company is working diligently to bridge the gap in environmental services between major cities and governorates, ensuring access to sustainable and reliable water and sanitation services throughout the Kingdom.
An invitation to beneficiaries and a commitment to quality
The National Water Company confirmed that the project was implemented according to the approved timelines, with strict adherence to quality and performance standards to ensure service sustainability and achieve the desired environmental and service impact. In closing, the company invited all customers in the neighborhoods covered by the new service to apply for the connection and have the water service connected to their homes. Beneficiaries can easily complete these procedures through the approved digital channels, either via the company's mobile application or the official e-branch (e.nwc.com.sa), thus saving them time and effort.
