Rainfall amounts in Saudi Arabia: Tabuk leads with 40.2 mm
Introduction to the recent rainy weather
Over the past 24 hours, Saudi Arabia has experienced positive weather changes, including widespread rainfall. The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture reported varying levels of rainfall across nine different regions, with Tabuk recording the highest amount. This bodes well for a promising agricultural season and will bolster the Kingdom's strategic water reserves.
The climatic context and the importance of rainfall in the Kingdom
Saudi Arabia is characterized by its arid desert climate across most of its regions, making rainfall a critical climatic and environmental event. Historically, many agricultural areas have relied on the rainy season to replenish groundwater and fill the dams constructed by the government as part of its strategic water security plans. This rainfall coincides with major national efforts, such as the "Saudi Green Initiative," which aims to increase vegetation cover and combat desertification. Natural rainfall plays a pivotal role in achieving these regional and international environmental objectives.
Details of rainfall amounts in Saudi regions
Based on the daily report issued by the Ministry, which relies on accurate readings from 115 hydrological and climatological monitoring stations (from 9:00 AM Wednesday to 9:00 AM Thursday), the details are as follows:

Expected impact of the weather conditions
Locally, these rains contribute to moderating the weather and lowering temperatures, in addition to their effective role in clearing the air of dust particles. They also have a positive impact on the agricultural sector by irrigating rain-fed crops and easing the burden on farmers. These rainy periods are always accompanied by continuous warnings from relevant authorities, such as the General Directorate of Civil Defense, urging caution and advising people to stay away from valleys and flood channels to ensure the safety of lives and property.
