King Salman Center treats a Gazan girl with cancer in Jordan
As part of the ongoing humanitarian efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support the brotherly Palestinian people, and in embodiment of the values of solidarity and brotherhood, the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid a new humanitarian step by sponsoring the treatment of the Palestinian girl “Roza Bahaa Al-Din Al-Drimli”, aged 11, who suffers from a complex cancerous tumor in the brain.
This initiative comes as a lifeline for the child from the Gaza Strip, whose critical health condition required urgent medical intervention and immediate transfer outside the Strip due to the seriousness of the tumor and its sensitive location at the base of the brain, which requires advanced treatment protocols and precise medical techniques that Gaza hospitals currently lack as a result of the tragic circumstances and the collapse of the health system there.
Details of the medical trip in Jordan
Arrangements were made to transfer the child, Rosa, through official channels, and she is currently residing at the King Hussein Cancer Center in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a leading medical institution in the region. The child is currently undergoing intensive clinical monitoring and rigorous periodic examinations under the supervision of a select group of consultants specializing in pediatric brain tumors, to assess the tumor's response to treatment and ensure that no neurological or visual complications arise that could threaten her life or future.
Context of strategic partnership and support for the health sector
This case is not an isolated incident, but rather the result of a strategic agreement signed by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center with the King Hussein Cancer Foundation and Center in July 2024. This agreement directly aims to treat cancer patients from the Gaza Strip in Jordan, reflecting proactive planning and a well-organized institutional response to the health crisis in the Strip. The Center seeks to bridge the significant gap in specialized medical services that the besieged territory is unable to access.
The Kingdom's leading role and its regional influence
These initiatives are of paramount importance in the current circumstances, as their impact transcends the individual act of saving a child's life. They constitute a powerful message of solidarity, reaffirming the unwavering support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, both its leadership and its people, for the Palestinians in their time of hardship. These efforts are a continuation of a long history of Saudi support for the Palestinian cause, encompassing airlifts, relief efforts, infrastructure development, and urgent medical interventions, all of which bolster the resilience of the Palestinian people and alleviate their suffering.
The girl’s family expressed their deep gratitude for this kind gesture, stressing that the speed of response and the provision of treatment at a specialized center restored their hope for their daughter’s recovery, praising the leading humanitarian role played by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Relief Center, in various international and regional arenas.
