Deputy Minister of Defense sponsors the graduation of the 39th class of King Fahd Naval College
On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, His Highness Prince Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, Deputy Minister of Defense, presided over the graduation ceremony of the 39th class of students from King Fahd Naval College on Thursday at the college's headquarters in Jubail, Eastern Province. The ceremony was attended by a number of senior military leaders and officials, including His Excellency Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Fayyad bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili, and His Excellency Commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, Vice Admiral Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Gharibi.
A leading academic in marine sciences stated
Established in 1406 AH (1986 CE), King Fahd Naval College is one of the most important military academic institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the region. The college aims to prepare and qualify naval officers with the highest levels of scientific and practical competence, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve in various branches of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces. The college offers comprehensive educational and training programs encompassing naval military sciences, engineering, and marine sciences, in addition to advanced field training programs on state-of-the-art vessels and simulators to ensure graduates are ready to meet the challenges of field operations.
Graduation ceremony
The ceremony began with the playing of the Royal Anthem upon the arrival of His Royal Highness the Deputy Minister of Defense, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. Afterwards, the Acting Commandant of King Fahd Naval College, Rear Admiral Yasser bin Ali Al-Numair, delivered a speech welcoming His Royal Highness, the patron of the ceremony, and expressing his gratitude for his presence at this important event, which represents the culmination of years of effort and academic achievement by the college's students. In his speech, he emphasized the pivotal role the college plays in providing the armed forces with qualified personnel who contribute to protecting the nation's resources and achievements.
Strategic importance and regional cooperation
The graduating class was not limited to officers of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces, but also included graduates from other military and security sectors such as the Border Guard and the Special Forces for Environmental Security. The class also included students from brotherly and friendly nations: the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Yemen, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, and the Republic of Djibouti. This diversity reflects the depth of military and security cooperation between the Kingdom and the countries of the region, and underscores the college's position as a leading regional center for naval training, contributing to the unification of military concepts and enhancing joint efforts to address security challenges in vital waterways.
Following this, the college flag was handed over from the graduating class to the incoming class. The graduates then took the oath, pledging their loyalty, obedience, and defense of the homeland. Afterward, the final results were announced, and His Highness the Deputy Minister of Defense honored the top-performing students, receiving a commemorative gift in return. The ceremony concluded with the graduates receiving their new military ranks and posing for commemorative photographs with His Highness. The national anthem was then played, marking the end of the ceremony.
