Hajj lectures 1445 at the Prophet's Mosque: Awareness and guidance for the guests of God
The General Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque in Mecca and the Prophet's Mosque in Medina announced the launch of a series of specialized lectures entitled "Hajj Lectures," which will be held at the Prophet's Mosque in Medina. This initiative is part of the Presidency's operational plan for the 1445 AH Hajj season and aims to enrich the religious and spiritual experience of pilgrims arriving from all corners of the earth.
Historical context and importance of the initiative
Religious study circles and lessons have been an integral part of the history of the Prophet's Mosque since its founding during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), when it served as a beacon of knowledge and guidance. Continuing this great legacy, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the General Presidency for Religious Affairs, is committed to enhancing the role of the Two Holy Mosques as a global center of Islamic scholarship. These lectures gain particular importance during the Hajj season, the largest annual gathering of Muslims, when millions of pilgrims flock to perform the fifth pillar of Islam and are in dire need of sound religious guidance to ensure they perform their rituals perfectly.
Objectives and effects of lectures
The “Hajj Lectures” series, held under the patronage of His Excellency the President of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz Al-Sudais, aims to achieve several strategic objectives. Locally, these lectures contribute to reinforcing the religious message of the Two Holy Mosques and disseminating moderate Islamic knowledge derived from the Quran and Sunnah. Internationally, they present a positive image of the Kingdom’s efforts in serving pilgrims, enlightening them on the rulings and virtues of the Hajj rituals, thus contributing to a unified understanding and preventing misconceptions. These lectures are expected to have a profound positive impact on pilgrims, enhancing their religious awareness and helping them experience the spirituality and grandeur of Hajj, in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 , which seeks to enrich the experience of those performing the pilgrimage.
A select group of scholars and sheikhs
This series of lectures will be presented by a distinguished group of scholars and teachers from the Prophet's Mosque, who will cover various jurisprudential and faith-based aspects of Hajj. Among the participating sheikhs are: Ibrahim Al-Turki, Ahmed Al-Sudais, Masoud Al-Muhammadi, Ali Al-Tuwaijri, Anis Taher, Abdul Salam Al-Suhaimi, Sulaiman Al-Ruhaili, and Ali Aba Butain. The lectures will be held from the 15th of Dhu al-Qi'dah to the 8th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1445 AH, covering the period before the actual Hajj rituals begin, thus giving pilgrims ample time to prepare and learn.
